Katy Winn – Photojournalist and Entertainment Photographer : Part 2

This time we go in a little deeper in the camera bag, and see some of the needed bits for a pro on the job.

You also get a great perspective on women photographers working these gigs. With a real world message to women in the profession or thinking about it, Katy Winn gives support before you’ve even asked for it. Solid citizen.

Katy Winn – Photojournalist and Entertainment Photographer : Part 1

One of the cool things about this next video is that it’s the first time we’ve interviewed a female photographer. Nothing intentional, but glad we did. And for our female readers, apologies for taking this long.
To the dudes: you needed another perspective.
Katy Winn is a news and entertainment photographer who works Fashion Week for Getty Images. She lets us in on the equipment choices for her assignments, in this 2 part series.

Extremely talented and charming, you’ll dig seeing the gear she uses, but stay tuned for Part 2 where she also gives some great advice. And check out her bio:

On The Red Carpet: Inside The Photographers Camera Bag, Part 2 with Frazer Harrison

We’re back with Part 2 and going a little deeper into the bag. Great, real world tips that the working photographer or the newbie needs to know.

How to prolong the life of your flash, fixing things on the fly, what to bring to the job and why. As a Getty Images assignment photographer, he gets the plum jobs and some prime shooting locations.

A photojournalist, he realizes that the business has shifted now to the strong commerce of the entertainment scene, as opposed to the news of the world.

It’s the world we live in.
And Frazer is damn good at what he does.

On The Red Carpet: Inside The Photographers Camera Bag with Frazer Harrison, Part 1

Last weekend in LA, it was the super bowl of celebrity events: The Oscars. And that meant that Frazer Harrison of Getty Images was working his tail off. Plus he shot the Independent Spirit Awards, the indie Oscars, the day before.
Busy, busy ,busy.
But we were able to catch up with him after the madness ( although we taped him just before going to another premiere with Kate Beckinsale) and take a look at what gear he uses to get the job done.

With over 22 years in the business, Frazer is a total pro with enough tips and advice that you can’t miss. Or shouldn’t miss.
There was so much great stuff , that we have Part 1 AND Part 2.
Not only does he show you what’s in the bag, but why. And what works well, and what he has to make do with.

Thanks again, Frazer for your time.I know everyone out there will get something out of the share.
Cheers!
