I’ll never forget being in photography school and getting exposed to the world of current art photographers of the time:Les Krims, Ralph Gibson, Robert Heinekin, Jerry Uselman, Judy Dater and this man-

Duane Michals
was one that I always found intriguing for his style of sequential series.

Ok maybe I didn’t put that right. I’ve always said that I may not be a good writer but I keep doing it in spite of that.

Where was I?…….. oh right.

Mr.Michals creates these sequences of images, coupled sometimes with a simple written narrative Now I had only thought about either single images or perhaps a journalistic approach to a storyline to this point in photography. Not that it hadn’t been done before.
But it changed my perception. Always like that.

Here was cinematic story told in very few still images. His single images also told a story which were made very accessible and easy to grasp on the surface.
