Nigel Parry began his photographic career in 1989, with a show featuring fifty portraits of members of London’s Groucho Club. His images of famed cultural and political figures have appeared in W, Vanity Fair, The New York Times Magazine, GQ, Esquire, Premiere, InStyle, Newsweek, Time, Sunday Times of London and Amica Italy. Parry’s work has been exhibited worldwide. In May 1999, he had the honor of being the first portrait photographer to be invited to exhibit at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. His recent awards include the Hasselblad Master Photographer, Photo District News Award, and several from American Photography. His books Sharp (powerHouse Books, 2000) and Precious (powerHouse Books, 2004) have both received wide critical acclaim. Parry is involved in several charities, including Starlight Foundation and Operation Smile. Parry lives and works in New York.”
