The Goldilocks of Ear Buds – Last One is JUST right!

I know that we have all probably had a pair of the ubiquitous white ear buds.
Reality is they don’t last forever.
True story is that the battery will only be able to be charged a certain amount of times, before they are ready to recycle. The quality deteriorates, and you will soon need a new pair. I did.
Maybe now is that time for you look around and check your options!
Now, the main thing I use ear buds for are Zoom calls, podcasts, calls on the phone, and of course the primary – music!
What I look for is a fast connect to each device, without having to go into system preferences to select a headset. Just want to pop them in, and be connected.
As I do review a bunch of headphones, I usually have about 9 headsets pre-connected to my computer and phone.

Here is a comparison of the 3 sets Poly ended up sharing for review, with a winner revealed:

The first one they sent over a very cool set  with a unique touch screen case, long battery life, easy to use app, and great fit. It was everything I wanted.
I thought these were the best sounding ear buds I had ever heard. Beautiful rich sounding tones, with a separation of musical elements like I hadn’t heard in a package this small before.

And the touch screen is super cool, as you can always see how much charge you have left! And you can adjust the sound quality as well via the screen.

The Voyager Free 60+

Except- I needed a bluetooth dongle, shown fitted into the case, to connect to the computer.Phone, no problem connecting
Not a great option especially on a laptop with limited inputs, but the BT dongle does allow you to have a range of up to 98 ft of connection. Not bad if you are a wandering around your office.
So close, but the dongle was not what I was looking for.

Then they sent over a newer set that was not in a touch screen case, yet still retained excellent sound qualities.  Still super strong battery life (Up to 16.5 hours (5.5 hours plus extra 11 hours with charge case (talk time)
Yep, it did connect to the laptop, and the phone as soon as I put them in my ears! Plus less expensive, as you would imagine. Screen on the 60+ looks great, and has some advantages, if you want to spend another $50.

The Voyager Free 60

About $250
THEN….
They sent over the latest – Poly VFree 20 ear buds!
Excellent sound, connected to the phone AND computer super fast, with a voice telling me when it was connected and to what device, or devices!!
Huzzah!

This was the winner for me. Still excellent sound, smaller, BT, connect to up to 8 devices. A little less battery life (12 hours)  and perfect for my home office. The magnetic feature in the ear buds ensure a secure placement into the case

Compare all 3 here:

And the form factor for each.

  $299                                                                               $249                                                                                     $199

As my white earbuds have pretty much seen an end of life, I’m so happy the Poly Vfree 20 has stepped in to take it’s place!

Highly recommend!
