STM Brings Tools To Add A Second Screen

When you need that second screen..

I’ll say it’s a safe bet that when you are on a Zoom call, your phone is close at hand.

Whether it’s to txt with teammates, look at a message that was called out in a notification, or candy crushing your heart out, you need to have the phone in close proximity.

We all know that to just have the phone on the flat on the desk, or in your hand, looks obvious and could be construed as you’re not paying any attention, as your eyes go downward.
I have been looking for the best solution for years, and at the last CES, I saw some that may have solved it!

From the good folks at STM, they have presented 2 options:

One that sits, tripod like, on your desk, and using a mag safe case or just the mag safe phone, you can set your phone at the right angle for viewing.

Called the STM MAGPOD.

I would suggest setting the proper configuration BEFORE your call, so you are not fiddling with it.
This unit can also be used as a short phone holder when doing a vid, like a mini selfie stick with magsafe.

The head has movement, although the angles are a little limited.
Rubber foot pads holds it in place, but a little extra weight wouldn’t hurt.

In another product, one which I was most excited for, is the STM MAGARM.

This unit has a suction cup on one end, think Lume Cube, and a MagSafe holder for your phone.

Love this thing!
The magnet is strong enough to hold an iPhone 14 pro with a case, no problem!

The unit does have a specific design to allow you to add a mag safe charger, into a nice round hole with a cutout for the cord.

Not for me, as I think the purpose is as space saving device.

Thanks to the unit design, you can add this on the side OR on top of your laptop.

Can you add it to your desktop monitor? Yes, of course you can!
I have not tried to do a vid with the phone while mounted, but see no reason you couldn’t.

I have used both while on zooms and either one works.

Admittedly, it’s the mag arm that is my tool of choice and will go into my work bag as well.
