And The Hits Will Continue to Come…PDN/PhotoPlus Expo Starts in NYC This Week

This is a great week for photography in NYC. Between the Lucie Awards tonight at Lincoln Center, to major photo auctions, seminars, talks, meet and greets, culminating at PDN/PhotoPlus at the Javits center. And we’ll be joining the festivities a little later this week, bringing you the highlights and a whole slew of new videos.
Along with all of the gear at PhotoPlus, there are lectures and special events.

If you are in the city, try to make this one. It’s a bit limited on seating, (300) but worth your best efforts to make.
Dang, hope I can get a seat now!.

NIKON PRESENTS AN INSPIRING CONVERSATION WITH PHOTOGRAPHY LEGEND BILL EPPRIDGE AT PHOTOPLUS EXPO 2008

What:

Nikon proudly presents “Over 50 Years of Photojournalism” with legendary photographer Bill Eppridge. Pulitzer Prize winning AP and CNN correspondent Peter Arnett will host as discussion of a storied career that has spanned more than five decades. Eppridge has been a staple of American political history, with an iconic collection including images ranging from the civil rights movement, the American debut of the Beatles, to the powerful image of a dying Robert F. Kennedy cradled in the arms of a busboy. Eppridge inspires a new generation of photographers through images that are a testament to the importance of photojournalism in documenting history.

When:
Friday, Oct. 24, 2008, from 4:00 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. The discussion will be followed by a brief Q&A session.

Where:
The event will take place at the PDN Theater, at the PhotoPlus Expo,
Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City.

So come by and say hello if you make it to PhotoPlus. I’ll be the dude with the camera walking the floor.
