We’re walking the floor at PhotoPlus Expo 2013, Eye Wide Open
That’s the goods news.
A wee bit smaller this year, but the floor still seems packed. I’m shooting videos all day, and will be editing them after the show.
Need some sleep, sometime.
Anyway, digging for the gold nugget. Looking for that special gleaming new thing that blows the rest away. It’ll be there, and rise above the rest. Not yet, though.
Seeing good solid products, that you’ll want to consider. That’s the beauty of this show. Get in and get it in your hands. Nikon opted for colorful candy, plus a set filled with live actors this year for your shooting pleasure.
The Sony full frame 7 And 7r were must sees.
Amazing form factor that fits in the palm of your hand, full frame, and enough megapixels to choke a horse.
Speaking of Sony, you heard apt the lenses, that are kinda cameras, that fit on your smart phone, or work not attached!
And the celebrity photographers like Lynn Goldsmith came to the Nikon booth, to tell the stories behind the iconic shots they made.
But nothing draws a crowd like a remote controlled helicopter. This one was amazing: takes off with a GoPro, will hover at a specified height, able to move GoPro by control knob, watch the GoPro video live (yes, we know you can do it with your phone, but this is all in one unit. That’s the way.) GPS will give it a path, and then when you are tired or bored, the flip of one switch will make the chopper come home to you , on its own.
Flying skills not necessary, multiple batteries are. Hello, Hanukkah Harry and Santa Claus?
At one of the evenings festivities, we ran into 2 of our favorite people, Gerd Ludwig and Ambassador Hossein Farmani! (yep, Ambassador!)
OK, more to come tomorrow. Keep watching our Flickr and Instagram on the site for the latest photos from the PPE floor
