Sony Goes Full Frame and Mirrorless: 36mp strong

ILCE-7R_front
It’s been long awaited, and the rumors have been flying about this latest salvo in the mirrorless one-up-manship.
Sony had a strong lead with the NEX series, and has now laid out a seemingly brilliant camera in 2 flavors.
The Sony Alpha 7 with 24.3 mp and the Sony Alpha 7r with over 36mp!
Both have the built in ability to use “one touch connection” for Wi-Fi.

See the difference? Ahem.

The price pint these came out at was a surprise as I thought the $2800. mark was more the expected.
Smart move Sony. Now you can have a lightweight, full frame camera, with most everything the larger (almost twice the size DSLRs have)
All the megapixels you desire for.
How much?
The Sony α7R and α7 full-frame interchangeable lens cameras will be available for purchase this December.
The α7R camera will be offered as a body-only for about $2300.
The Sony α7 compact system camera will be offered with a 28-70mm F3.5 – F5.6 full-frame lens (model SEL2870) for about $2000. It will also be offered as a body-only for about $1700.
Pretty reasonable I feel.
Still, probably won’t shoot movies with it.
But looks to be a fantastic street shooter.
Sure some new Zeiss glass is coming, but the choices are woefully full.
Thank goodness there are adaptors. Oh, those will be here in December.

I’ll wait.
