Weekly Giveaway: The Dude abides. and shoots.

We love panoramic photographs.

That uncommon space to work with in a still image allows a different story to be told.
It challenges you eye to work within a different creative box.

Sure, you can do the stitching game and there are some new cameras that will let do it in-camera.Like the Sonys
Or go high end, and use a sweet Nodal Ninja rig, for the maximum panoramic interactive VR.
The old school way is either a Noblex or the uber cool Widelux. Both are film cameras.

Jeff Bridges, the Dude, goes Widelux. As a matter of fact he shoots behind the scenes photos with it on every film shoot and traditionally gives a custom book out as gifts upon wrapping filming.

This expanded view by him, is what re-awakened the pano spirit in us.
And this book of his in particular, Pictures

Point of fact is that the Noblex is a slightly more reliable camera with an electric powered shutter. The spring loaded Widelux can be a touch camera to maintain. Those that repair them are few and far between.
However, Mr. Bridges seems to do just fine and gives you a great look behind the curtains in Hollywood.

Details on getting a copy of the book for free, will be outlined in the next Newsletter, coming out shortly.

This week, for the first time in 7 years, we were able to hand deliver a weekly Giveaway item.
It was the Helen Levitt book, won by Cat G. of Los Angeles. It wasn’t balloons and fanfare like Publishers Clearing House , but still pretty cool.
