Teenage Paparazzo – How to make more money than a paper route at 13

The ethical question comes up all the time: privacy/celebrity/ and the inquiring minds that want to know. YOU want to know.
NO?
Well someone out there does, because the business of the paparazzi and all celebrity gossip is selling better than ever online, TV and yes, still in print.
Adrian Grenier, from Entourage, directs his third documentary, this time taking on the world of a Teenage Paparazzo,Austin Visschedyk. He was 13 when the film began and is now 16.

So here is the deal: this kid, has found a career for himself in the world of the paparazzi. Whether it’s his age, preciousness, or skills he’s now made a name for a further career. But how about the parents?
Who is letting him out on the streets of Hollywood to get this done? It sure isn’t the after school paper route. Unless it’s night school.
This is one you should see for all of the right reasons. Consider it a cultural study of the current human conditions. One aspect of it, at least.

Who best to examine this world than one who is chased, haunted and perhaps complicit in the whole symbiotic relationship, than a celebrity? Grenier has tread in these doc waters before, and now has hit upon a subject that, while titillating, examines the deeper relationship we all have with living a vicarious life, through exposure to those we watch on the screen’s supposed private moments.

The film opens tomorrow, June 18th.

Here are some videos we made a couple of years ago on the subject of the paparazzi:
