Weekly Giveaway – Black Rapid:the new way to carry your camera

It seems to be all the rage.
Photographers are carrying their cameras NOT by the camera strap, but by a knob screwed into the tripod socket, which is attached to a sliding strap.

Check this out unit from Black Rapid:

Now when we first saw this, it seemed a little crazy to be hanging about 5-7K behind you on a strap . (your camera and major lens)

Then we started to see event shooters coming in working the double strap. They swore by em, and mainly for the comfort by the end of the event and the speed bringing the camera up to the eye.
At a recent festival we saw a ton more.
Hmmmm…maybe there is something to this camera sling concept.

Ok, just kidding.

Of course the competition came to play. There are now at least 2 other similar products on the market.
We are currently checking out this brand and the other products, and are coming in with some definite opinions. The comfort issue is no lie, but we’ll get into the details at a later, full review time. Pros, cons, fit and finish.

And we’re curious what you would think of the concept

So the giveaway is going to work a bit different this week: whomever wins this Black Rapid RS-4 Strap, we’d like to get a review.
Let’s see how you like to sling your camera.
Fair enough?
It’s like an exchange- we’ll send you the item, then you have to post what you thought about it, maybe supply some pics of you using the rig.

If it works out well, we’ll do more of these.

All of the info on getting the one Black Rapid strap we have to giveaway will be in this weeks NEWSLETTER, so make sure you’ve subscribed either at the top of the page or right here.

It comes out every Weds. AM, so make sure you are subscribed by Tuesday eve.
