Introducing Vincent Versace: Master Photographer and Teacher

A few years back I had the pleasure of meeting Vincent Versace for the first time.
His unbounded energy and complete dedication to the fine art of photography was astounding.
Now he is an accomplished photographer but equally as noted as an educator.

Welcome to Oz: A Cinematic Approach to Digital Still Photography

From his bio:
“In addition to being one of the featured artists of Epson, Lexar and Nikon Electronic Imaging, he is also one of the photographers used by Epson, Lexar, Adobe, Nik Multimedia, X-Rite, Monaco, Microsoft, Alienware Computers, Apple Computers, Roland, Dynalite Strobe systems, Photoflex, Luminos, Kodak, LowePro, and Nikon to beta test their software, color management systems, computers, digital cameras, digital backs, flash media, lighting systems, hi-resolution printers, ink and Inkjet media, and scanners.”

Yes sir, he knows his gear and is recognized by most of the major photographic manufacturers for his technical expertise.

But there is so much more to Mr. Versace.

His talents as a teacher are reflected by his classifications as NIkon Master, taking students around the world on photographic journeys ,member in the Photoshop Hall of Fame and so much more.

Did i mention that his work with Black and White photography in the digital world is considered by many to be the definitive word on the subject?

He has now taken the time to put his own unique approach to photography into a formalized set of materials.

With more of a holistic approach to the art, he encourages you to not just examine the techniques but the impetus behind the image you are making.

In other words, putting the thought into the image you want to finally realize and why, and then discovering the tools you need to complete your vision.

Heady stuff for sure, but worthy of the true student of the art.

The book comes with a disk with sample images, so don’t expect to just read along. I initially began to read this book before bed. Big mistake. In no time at all
you will be prompted to explore and work your way through this experience using the included disk of images.

In addition he has a full set of interactive DVDs for your studying pleasure.

Worthy of your consideration.

Cheers!
Damon Webster
