Deane Fitzmaurice on transitioning to Multimedia

Multimedia has become the bucket phrase to describe the addition of audio and video to the photojournalist’s skill sets.
The gear is out there, and as a still photographer, it’s up to you to decide whether or not to embrace of of it.
Deanne Fitzmaurice is a Pulitzer Prize winning photographer, and co-founder of ThinkTank Photo, who is dealing with that transition in very positive ways.
By adding new skill sets, she has been making her way to new clients, and new ways of seeing, and never losing site of the reason for it all: the story.

Have a listen to what she has to say:

Film making has been around for over a hundred years, but photography for about 170.
How do you want to tell your story?
And remember: If it ain’t on the page, it ain’t on the stage. Or screen.
Make notes about what you’re going to shoot.
