no pressure.

The thirteenth annual Project Competition honors committed photographers working on long-term documentary projects and fine-art series. Three jurors reach a consensus on the First Prize and three finalists. Each individual juror also selects a project to receive one of the three Juror’s Choice awards.

Charles Guice, Director, Charles Guice Gallery, Berkeley, CA
Deborah Klochko, Director, Museum of Photographic Arts, San Diego, CA
Kathy Ryan, Director of Photography, New York Times Magazine

Work derived from all photographic processes, both traditional and digital, are accepted, as well as mixed media work that is photo-based. Both fine art and documentary photography, and all combinations thereof, are acceptable. Work that has been published by a major photographic publishing house or university press is not eligible for the Project Competition. Previous winners of the Project Competition may not enter again with the same body of work.
